Key Responsibilities

Lead business analysis activities for transit data warehouse modernization, including requirements gathering, process analysis, stakeholder interviews, and documentation.

Support data discovery and assessment activities, including review of current reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, source systems, data marts, legacy data structures, and manual reporting processes.
Assist with data mapping, source-to-target validation, business rule definition, and data quality review for transit-related data domains.
Help define and validate KPIs, measures, dimensions, filters, and reporting logic for dashboards and analytics deliverables.
Support data governance activities, including business glossary development, data ownership identification, data stewardship roles, metadata review, and lineage documentation.
Facilitate meetings and workshops with business users, technical teams, project leadership, and client stakeholders.
Review prototypes, dashboards, reports, data models, and requirements traceability to confirm alignment with business needs.
Support user acceptance testing by developing test scenarios, validating report outputs, documenting defects, and coordinating resolution with the technical team.
Assist with change management, training material input, user readiness, and operational handoff documentation.
Provide clear communication between business and technical teams to ensure the solution is usable, accurate, auditable, and aligned with the agency’s long-term data strategy.

Experience gathering and documenting business, functional, reporting, and data requirements.
Experience working with technical teams on data mapping, data validation, report logic, source system analysis, and data quality issues.
Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements for data engineers, architects, BI developers, and QA teams.
Experience supporting stakeholder workshops, interviews, requirement review sessions, and user acceptance testing.
Strong documentation skills, including requirements documents, meeting notes, decision logs, process flows, data dictionaries, report specifications, and test scenarios.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with executives, business users, technical staff, and project managers.
